This is a longshot, but hopefully there is someone who can help...

One of the nominees on the Georgia Picture Book Award nominee list this year is
YOKO'S PAPER CRANES by Rosemary Wells. It's a beautiful book and story. I was
hoping to have some Japanese students from a nearby private school come and do a
tandem reading with me to present this to our students, but I have not been able to
schedule them to come and we must vote in three weeks.

It may not even be possible, but if there is anyone out there who can help or who
has a contact person to help, I was thinking I might be able to send them the story
and if they have a program, rewrite it in Japanese, place in Powerpoint (or e-mail
me text I could copy/paste into Powerpoint), and read each page in Japanese and
record it so I could play the Japanese language version of each page after I have
read it in English. It's a far-fetched idea, but with the power or LM_NET & never know until you try!

My practicum student did use some sort of languague conversion site to make a
Powerpoint program with the story in Japanese, but I do not know if it's in the
correct syntax, etc. I really need for it to be "read aloud" so the students could
hear it in two language.

Thanks in advance for any help!
