There was an interesting Dateline or 20/20 or 60 Minutes-type program last year that corrected my miscomprehension of Cinco de Mayo as being Mexican Independence Day. According to the program, this day rose in popularity as Mexican beer companies decided it was a better day to have a party on, so they pushed it as a major party day rather than September 16th. So if you lift a Tecate, Cerveza or a Negro Modelo (my favorite) today, thank them for thinking of their sales in the promotion of this as a major holiday. Still, 5-05-05 should be something really cool.any suggestions?
