Greetings, fellow LM_NETters,

The SUNLINK Weed of the Month topic for November is "Photography."

Remember that camera you were using for family photos ten years ago?
Compare that to the digital camera you are using today. Big change,
right? If your library media collection titles on photography have not
changed in the last ten or twenty years, the students are not getting
what they need to maintain an interest and answer their questions in
this subject area. .

For information on criteria, a rationale, suggested titles to consider
for weeding, and titles to consider for purchase, go to this section of
the SUNLINK web site:

A brief explanation of Weed of the Month for new LM_NET members: The
SUNLINK Weed of the Month began in September 1997, as an effort to help
provide Florida's School Library Media Specialists with guidelines and
suggestions for weeding their collections a little at a time as well as
adding quality materials. The project idea and specific suggestions came
from media specialists around the world via LM_NET. A section of a
school library media collection is identified each month during the
school year as a weeding target.
