[LM_NET] Target: ReadAloud International

A teacher sent me this request:
We read about an elementary school participating in Read Aloud 
International.  It is a program that encourages and rewards 
participants for reading aloud nightly to their children.   We thought 
it would be fun to try this program.  The school chooses one book and 
every family has a copy of it and reads it nightly.  My question is do 
you have any ideas of some titles that would be appropriate for a whole 
school to read?  The books are "read tos" so it can be above their 
reading level but we were having a hard time coming up with a title 
that would be good for a K - 5th grade range of listeners.  The book 
that the elementary school in the article read was Because of Winn 
Dixie.  We thought we could go with that but were hoping that you might 
have some other suggestions.
