Original post I am working on my website using Safari on an eMac. Is there a way to compress photos in iPhoto so they will load more quickly? I know there are two programs for Windows that can do this, but what about in a mac environment? Thanks so much to all who sent ideas! ------------ One work around on this is to send the photo email. It is compressed then. ------------ When you are in the "organization" mode of iPhoto, select a photo by highlighting it and then go to File and then Export. It should bring up a window that allows you to scale the size of the photo. I do this often when emailing photos or loading to a website. You can also change from original format to whatever you need. Hope this helps. You have to play with it a bit. I export the photo to the desktop as a jpeg. ------------- I don't think that iPhoto will do that. You can purchase Photoshop Elements from the Academic Superstore for, I think, $100 or even less. That program gives you almost all the stuff that Photoshop does. There's a feature on it under "Edit" for "save to Web" - you can make the photo as small as you like. Well worth the investment and taking a class on it. U. of Wisconsin - Stout offers on-line classes in this program. I took one last summer. It was worth it just to discover that feature! ------------- Download Graphic converter... if it's not already in your Applications folder. ------------- When you export the photos, you have the option to change their size. In addition, you can make them a good size for a web page. Does that help with what you want?
