Hello All,
My name is Steve Crandell. I'm the secondary librarian at the
International School of Kenya, and we're looking for a visiting author for
our middle and high schools for 2006-2007. We have a great school here,
lots of voracious readers and teachers who are very excited about the
chance to focus on the upper grades for next year's author.
This year we have Karen Lynn Williams coming to visit us - ES focus.
Last year was MS focus with Beverley Naidoo.
Our budget for a week's author visit is about $4,000 - that includes
transport costs. We like to think the excitement and adventure of a trip
to Africa (think Safaris, prehistoric archaeological sites, and a very
dynamic local culture) can make such an event as great for the author as
it has always been for us.
If you have any contacts with anyone who might be interested, please
respond to me directly - we need to plan early for these kind of events.
