*Job Announcement: Assistant Professor, School Media*

The University of Georgia’s School Library Media Graduate Program (, 
situated within the Department of Educational Psychology and 
Instructional Technology, invites applications for a new tenure-track 
faculty member at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have a 
demonstrated potential for productive research scholarship and a record 
reflecting a strong commitment to teaching. Faculty members are expected 
to serve on University and College committees and teams, and to advise 
students.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. or Ed.D. from an NCATE accredited college 
or an ALA accredited program with a specialization in school media area 
and a focused research agenda. Preferred qualifications include 
experience as a school media specialist at the K-12 building level.

The strategic goals of our program include expansion of our doctoral 
program in school media and addressing growing information and 
technology literacy needs of Georgia’s increasingly diverse K-12 population.

Applications should include a letter of application that details 
research and teaching interest, curriculum vitae, and contact 
information for at least three references. Review of applications will 
begin November 15^th , and will continue until a candidate has been 
selected, or applications close. To assure full consideration, 
applications must be received by February 1, 2006.

Salary: competitive
Position to start August 2006
