Another way to look at it is an opportunity to point out to the students
that in elementary school, we teach the students the basics of research.
When they are first starting out, we allow them to use the encyclopedia
but quickly teach them that the encyclopedia should be used first for
background information.  In upper elementary and secondary, encyclopedic
sources are not allowed to even be listed as references.  If we do that,
then online sources such as wikipedia and answers.com would fall into
that category.
