[LM_NET] TAR: catchy sports/reading events

Hi!

We are getting ready to have a school-wide reading promotion and are  
hoping to pick your wonderful brains for ideas.

1)  We want to emphasize that 'Reading is to the brain as exercise is  
to the body.'
Can you help us come up with any other catchy sayings?
Reading builds your brain
Build your brain muscle
Strong body, strong mind
?
?

2)  We want to create a score card for the kids, in which they track  
their reading via 'sports events.'
Ex:
  Home Run!  Read any 4 books on the same topic to complete this event
Running relay:  Read a book recommended by a friend
Hit a triple!  Read any 3 books buy the same author

We'd like 8 - 10 events that can be completed by reading anything  
from picture books to YA novels, fiction & non-fiction.
I'd love for the sports theme to work -- favorite sports around here  
are soccer, karate, baseball, & NASCAR racing.

I will gladly share ideas if others are interested.
