Hi everyone. I am turning to you because you are the best, and I have exhausted all other avenues. Here's my dilemma: I have a book that I simply cannot find Dewey call number information on. I've tried SchoolCat, Library of Congress, and I've called the publisher who consulted Ingram's. Nothing. Zip. Zero. Nadda. Horror of horrors, I think I will have to start from scratch! <g> Anyway, it's kind of an interesting situation and involves both murder and a ghost. I am the librarian at Odessa High School in Odessa, Texas. The book is called Washed in the Blood. It is written by Shelton Williams, published by Bristol Publishing Company, Lubbock, Texas. It tells the true story of a Odessa High School student, Betty Jean Williams, who persuaded a school mate to kill her in 1961. There are stories of her ghost roaming the halls to this day. As you can imagine, the book might not have received national attention, but it is quite sensational at our school. The information I got from the publisher is that the book is classified as True Crime: Murder (general): Cultural: (region): and Western: U.S. My cataloging resources from library school are packed away in my garage, temporarily, while we have been doing some remodeling, and the ones I have at school are not as up-to-date. I would appreciate any help you might give! The line to check out the book is growing, and I am feeling the pressure! As always, thanks for any help.
