If you don't have a student store in your library, this will help. I generate hundreds each month. ----- Original Message ----- From: "WENDY POTTER" <wjpotter@MAIL.PAMLICO.K12.NC.US> To: <LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU> Sent: Friday, October 07, 2005 8:22 AM Subject: [LM_NET] Grants and other Funding Possibilities Hello Everybody, I am searching for ways to generate funds for my high school's media center. We are in the middle of budget crunches like so many other people. This is my first year in the media center; I have been working to get this position since 2000. I started working on my master's degree in 2000, one course at a time! I chipped away until I now have the position. I love it and I want to do everything I can to have a strong media center for our teens. Please share your ideas with me. Our collections need a lot of updating. Our equipment needs a lot of updating also. Our major positive point is our technology; we have a lady, at the county level, with a lot of vision who has really done a great job of creating excellent technology for us. I want the rest of the media center to be on that level. Have any of you ever held a book fair on the high school level? I am thinking about it; I need advice. Have any of you located grants that a small school of 650 students could qualify for; I will have trouble with the matching funds concept, but I am willing to work for whatever is available. Tell me about anything that might help me improve our media center--big funds or small---anything will help.
