Having served on a state (FL) textbook selection committee a few years ago, I became even more aware of the role of state standards on some publishing. Certainly textbook publishers are aware of those hoops. I'm wondering if authors of children's books and/or their publishers are, at times, directing their publications toward being considered as reinforcement of state standards. Believe some texts have different versions in, say, California, Texas or Florida for example. Are there instances of different forms of children's books for the same reason?
