Georgia has a state wide Digital Library called GALILEO http://www.galileo.usg.edu
(Georgia Library Learning Online). It just celebrated its tenth birthday- older
than Google.

It is a wonderful, amazing resource available to every citizen of Georgia.
I talk about it all the time in my BLOG (URL in my sig file). There is a password
given to each library. Resources are divided by K-12, Tech schools, academic, and
public library user.

I do a session in every Intro to Computers class on GALILEO. Parents are amazed
that this is available to their children. No more trips to Borders to buy
magazines. GALILEO also offers a 15,000 book collection in netLibrary.

GALILEO is in the process of creating a search box which will do a metasearch
through all the big databases (EbscoHost, ProQuest, Lexis Nexis...) yes- this is
all available in Georgia!

I moved here from Florida and felt like I had gone to Digital heaven. The academic
instututions in Florida have access to many of these resources paid for from their
school budget and limited to their students and faculty. The state of Georgia
provides the resources to every citizen- every one!
