Join us! Celebrate the power of libraries across the world! For their 2005 activity, students in my library are exchanging emails with students in other libraries around the world. These are being posted on a board that has central place in our display of books from other countries. The email address for this activity is delany_library@yahoo.com Please make the subject address 'Greetings from <your town, your country> Our ISLD group is hoping that your students will tell us a little bit about your school library and also the name and a little about a favourite book from your country. Soon we will have our library website available and then your students will be able to follow this on the net. Our school is a receiver school for students from overseas, many of them refugees, and has an intensive English centre. Over 85% of our students do not speak English at home. We have students from all over (including the USA) and if possible, we will get students from your country to reply. Thank you for taking time to promote this with your students. ISL Day is Monday 24 October. Jan Radford TL at Delany College GRANVILLE (suburban Sydney) NSW AUSTRALIA jalera1@bigpond.net.au delany_libary@yahoo.net Reading is an activity not a passivity!
