Dear LM_NETTERS-- Please excuse the duplication if you've already read and replied, but I could use additional information especially from the west coast, mountain states and upper midwest. I'm part of a group at UNC that is studying workforce issues and trying to put together a picture of the job situation for school librarians across the US. Please tell us about your area by answering the following questions. How is the job picture in your state or region? Does your state require an MLS for school librarians? How did you come to librarianship-- a) straight from undergraduate school b) having been a classroom teacher and sought something different c) from a public library d) other? please specify Anything else you might like to share? Please reply to me directly. Replies will be held confidential, and I'll post a HIT of the overall picture if I get enough information and if anyone wants. Many thanks, Robin Boltz, PhD Student Library Teacher, South Granville High School Creedmoor, NC -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
