As I was reading coverage of Newsweek's troubles, I came across an
interesting website at http://www.mondotimes.com/. The site has a
thorough listing of ownership of media companies, contact names, tools
for building e-mail lists, and so on, but what caught my attention were
the ratings of political bias and credibility. Since the ratings are
apparently based on the opinions of site members (I declined to give
them my e-mail so I could vote on my local paper) the ratings are not
based on any kind of formula, but instead represent the perceptions of
the members. Newsweek was voted as a moderately credible, left-leaning
news source, Time was reported as having no bias, but also having little
credibility, and US News & World Report was voted "very good, and leans
right" and also highly credible.

This begs the question of how credible "mondotimes.com" is. There don't
appear to be many votes per news source.

I find this quite fascinating as in my opinion, both Time and Newsweek
have
a slightly right bias. Can there be any other analyses out there so we
don't
just exchange opinions?
