I guess it dosen't pay to try to send emails when your very tired.This comes from 
chairperson's toolkit's help under my financials under salestax "Sales Tax must be 
collected on all sales unless you are tax-exempt andhave a current tax-exempt 
certificate.
Currently, California, Washington, Illinois, Maryland and Michigan do nothave a 
tax–exempt standard for Scholastic Book Fairs. You will be requiredto remit tax if 
your Fair is held in one of these states. " So you have to be tax-exempt as well.
