ACCORDING TO AACR2 GLOSSARY
"A name, term, code, etc., under chich a bibliographic record may be searched and
identified. see
also Heading".

Heding "A name, word, or phrase at the head of a catalogue entry to provide an
access point." This
was more important when we had catalog cards.

Here we catalog for the "Google Generation". We add many subject headings, we
analyze the
book according to the currculum and student research interests. For example we
just did a book on
all the vice presidents, doing a heading for each one. We often insert the entire
table-of-contents in
a note. This does help students, but is expensive.
