Hi Armatti, I am just now catching up with my e-mail. I have run a book club for the past 3 years and this is what we do. We meet once a month after school in the Library for a hour. The Library is open after school by me anyway so students can do research etc., so this is not a problem. Each member chooses a book to read for the month we currently just finished reading 1984 the students chose that one, and so far they all love it. We also have 2 big events we put on. 1) Murder Mystery Night which we just had Tues eve.. This is a interactive mystery where the book blub students are in the suspects in a murder and the student, faculty, parents who attend are the detectives and they have to solve the crime. Each year it is getting bigger and bigger and this year we had 70 participants show up. There are prizes, door prizes and food provided. We charg $2.00 at the door and the students want to order shirts for our next event which is in March. This event is Poetry night where students, fac! ulty, parents read poetry that they wrote or from their favorite poet. We also did a banned books play with Drama and book club students performing. Well, let me know if you need more info. Thanks, Robyn Robyn Doppke-Jones Librarian Catholic High School 3043 W.
