Bless Me Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya, which has been our sophomore AP list for
several years, has been challenged. The primary reason for the challenge was
language and subject matter (occult and sexuality). The school board's
decision was to keep the book on the list, but to provide students with an
alternate title. Does anyone have a recommendation for a college level
Hispanic coming of age story? The teacher would really like to stay away
from anything dealing with witchcraft as that seems to be the biggest
sticking point.

Thanks in advance. Please respond OFFLIST.
