Dear Jane I am not Carol, but I am pretty certain I can answer your question ... you cannot transfer VHS to DVD at all at the moment because to do so would involve changing the original format and would thus deprive the copyright owner of the opportunity for income by doing this themselves. You may be able to at a later date when the means to screen VHS tapes are no longer made or sold, or existing units cannot be repaired. But I am not certain of that.
