Hi all, I'm a recent subscriber to LM_NET, and have to say I'm finding the discussions really interesting, even though a lot of the talk is a little foreign to me, coming from a little primary school (ages 5-11)library in New Zealand! Thanks for all the inspiration and ideas so far. Now I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with the title of a book I found in my local library a year or so ago. It was a collection of drawings and accompanying sentences which had been, according to the introduction, left with a publisher for consideration, but the man who left it there never returned. The drawings were particularly beautiful and rather haunting (puzzling in an M.C. Escher-like way), and each was accompanied by a sentence which suggested the beginnings of a mysterious story. The only illustration I can remember clearly showed butterflies or something on the wallpaper coming alive and flying about. At the time I thought this book would make a fabulous 'ideas starter' for students' creative writing, but the teacher I showed it to wasn't that enthusiastic. Now I've discovered a similar style of book in 'Imagine a Day' (Sarah L Thompson, 2005) and really want to take another look at the first book! I have a strong feeling it was published in the USA, but that's probably not much help! Any ideas please? Please respond offlist.
