Interesting enough, all of the replies I have had (which have been many!!)
have been requests for a hit. It seems that many people are interested in
developing this as a part of their media center. However, only one person
posted a reply that had experience in developing a coffee bar/cappuccino
area. Sara Johnson sent some great pictures and had actually implemented a
café in the library.
Can you post pictures to LMNET? If so, I’ll post them. Thanks Sara. Great
ideas here.
Attached are some pics from the cappuccino area we opened this September.
We have a self serve machine that we purchase product for (2 flavors of
capp. and 1 hot choc.) for. The kids help themselves and then come over to
the circ desk to pay. We have never had a problem with them such as not
paying and the behavior is also exemplary. We sold quite a bit first
semester, but our sales are down quite a bit now. We didn't open it though
as a money maker, just as a way to entice students in the door. We also
have checkers and chess for them to use. If you have any other questions,
