LM_NET Archive

Greetings, oh wise ones,

I have an interview next week (stage one of the process) for a library position.
It's been a little while since I was in a school library and I want to know what
topics I should brush up on before I go. (For example, is the Big 6 still current
or has it been replaced by something else?) I have been trying to keep current
with LM_NET, but of course I can't possibly read every posting.

I have no doubt that I can do the job. I have a master's degree, multiple
certifications, and experience. I just don't want to be taken by surprise in the
interview. If you have any suggestions of topics, websites, key words for the
archives, or anything else helpful, please send it to me off-list. I will post a
hit if requested. (And if my interviewer is a member of LM_NET, she will know I
intend to come prepared!)

I have seen lists before of possible interview questions, but that's not what I'm
looking for right now. I just want to know what topics you think are hottest/most
important right now, and if you know of a good website for the topic, that would be
very helpful. I do not currently have access to a professional library, except for
my small personal collection, mainly from library school. I do not have access to
any databases except those available to the public.

I'm really looking forward to getting back into the library!

  TIA,

  Cindy Denning
  once and future librarian
