Dear LM Netters, I have heard that the district I work for is going to be using eVideon for distributing videos throughout our district through our network. We currently have another video distribution system that we use to encode and stream videos and play vhs and dvds through. Is anyone else using eVideon and do you have any information that you can share about working about them? Second, they are telling us that we can digitize all of our video collection so that all of our titles will be encoded for streaming through the system, their system can limit how many "copies" are played at one time but I'm still concerned about the copyright issues of encoding the videos. Has anyone else had experience with this? If a system can limit the number of users for a title is it legal to digitize a copy of the tapes and dvds? Third, has anyone had any experience with PowerMediaPlus for streaming content?
