[LM_NET] Book title needed

Does anyone recognize a children's or YA novel about skeetball in 
Atlantic City?

A new teacher had a passage from such a novel on her Praxis exam, and 
would like to teach the novel.  I asked if it could be skeet 
shooting, but she said it was skeetball.  Of course, she hasn't seen 
the whole novel, and this may be just an episode.

I have great faith in y'all--thanks for any clue you can give.
