Has he read Cornelia Funke's Dragon Rider? My kids love it. There's Dealing
with Dragons by Patricia Wrede, Here there be dragons by Jane Yolen (dragon
short stories). If he read Eragon, he might enjoy Anne McCaffrey's Harper Hall
Trilogy, which is considered middle school level, where the other books in the
Dragonriders of Pern series are considered adult.
