If I were faculty at OSU, I'd be questioning his selections, but not his right to suggest alternate viewpoints. Santorum's book in particular is deliberately abrasive and unhelpful to any civil discussion. As was pointed out, none of the works he listed pass muster as scholarly. There are far less inflammatory titles that present a conservative viewpoint on these subjects. But more to the point, I'd be questioning Mr. Savage's commitment to his professional ethics. As a librarian, tasked with providing suggestions of scholarly works for a reading list, he instead suggests four questionable works that work to inflame passions and incite hate rather than encourage discussion and reasoned debate.
