I have had a teacher approach me about purchasing the following book for our
library. this is from Amazon's site.:

The New Evidence That Demands A Verdict Fully Updated To Answer The Questions
Challenging Christians Today (Hardcover)
by Josh McDowell

  Book Description
Evidence I & II-The classic defense of the faith: Now fully updated to answer the
questions challenging evangelical faith today.
The New Evidence maintains its classic defense of the faith yet addresses new
issues.
The New Evidence is destined to equip believers with a ready defense for the next
decade and beyond

I question whether this book is appropriate for a school library. I have books on
various faiths such as Christianity, Islam, Bhuddism, Judaism etc. and I have many
of the opposing viewpoints and court cases dealing with religion in school and
government. ( The second teacher asking for the book is the same one that wrote
comments in another book on Engel V Vitale court case.) The book description just
seems a little dogmatic to me and I'm not sure how this would help kids to write
papers ( reason given for purchasing) Maybe I'm way off base here and I don't want
to get into a discussion of religious beliefs. Would you purchase this? I'll post
a hit if anyone is interested. Darlene
