Dear Friends.,
Just presented a 10 min program to my school board last week about how libraries
impact achievement using the Scholastic, School Libraries Work!
Response was great! Also did a bulletin board with pics of me with the kids and
quotes from research studies about libraries and improved test scores.
I got really good feedback and wanted to encourage anyone to talk to your board,
and give you and your program a boost!

To that end, I also wrote a letter to the editor for my newspaper entitled, "Do you
have to go to school for that" during National Library week that talked about all
the misconceptions about us. (Yes, we go to college, yes we do more than check out
books, etc.) It only took me about 1hr to compose and it brought great results.
People that never use our library came up to me and asked about what I do and how
libraries have changed since they went to school.

I'm just so excited I had to share with everyone how a little PR can go a long way.

Happy Monday!!
