account for physical assets; to find out what's missing and misshelved.

While "thinking" about inventory, we were wondering how to count the
videos in United Streaming. I don't think we would count it as one
item because it isn't on a CD that one person at a time could use. How
does anyone else handle this?
Also, what about data bases that you subscribe to that have newspapers
and periodicals? How do you count those in inventory?
