Hello all, Does anyone have experience with the "How Government Works" series of books. It includes titles such as: A Balancing Act: A Look at Checks and Balances Declaring Freedom: A Look at the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and the Constitution Friendly Foes: A Look at Political Parties etc... I am wondering what your opinions are on these books. I have a 5th grade teacher suggesting them, but I am not sure if they are a good choice. If not, does anyone have suggestions for the government processes to use at the elementary level? Thanks in advance.
