Hi, Wondering if any of you know of any book (fiction or nonfiction) which indicates the likelihood of a woman in the 1880s inheriting a farm over her brother(s), even if she is the eldest. Also, along a similar line, if there is material that shows deviation from the traditional "woman's work" on a farm. Both are needed to include in a paper on discussing Alexandra in O Pioneers. Thanks for any light you can shed on this subject. Chester Chester A.
