Before I post a hit on this question, I would like some suggestions as to who to include in a list of famous people that 10th graders could relate to, but who we could find reliable information on in general databases. For example: Steven Jobs, Bill Gates, Tupac Shakur, Paul Abdul, Laura Bush, Michael Jordan, Stephen Hawkings, Apollo Ohno, etc. I am trying to build a list that is not so totally "current" that we can't find reliable information, but not so obsolete that the students go "Argghh!" Suggestions? Many thanks!
