I've not read "Stained", and probably won't, but I do have a personal policy that I use when deciding what to do about a book. If I have any question about something I've heard about and might consider buying, I ILL it first and read it. I've saved myself a lot of grief, and the district's taxpayers a lot of money over the years. The other thing I have done in every place I've been the librarian. I have assured all my administrators that I will not put a book on the shelf I'm not willing to defend. If I'm not willing to defend it, what kind of librarian would I be if it DID come up for a challenge? I'm not pretending that there aren't books on the shelf that could cause trouble. I have not read everything, and there were a lot of books here when I started, but I try to make careful decisions about where I put my purchases. I have a PreK-12 library, so I basically have three age ranges I put books in.
