My husband and made our first trip to New Orleans last summer. It was during the
last week of July. We are from Arkansas, so hot and humid is not new to us. But,
what a city in which to be hot and humid!
We were there one month before Katrina. The pictures in the news of the places
we had just visited were so sad; our hotel was across from the Convention
Center and everything was so different just a month before! It was hard to
fathom.
We hope to return in a couple years and feel fortunate to been able to visit
when we did. And, hey, Harrah's is a huge, air-conditioned people-watching
place when you need to cool off.
What a grand city.
