Hi Folks,

I am working on my book for parents Raising CyberSavvy Kids. I am, out of
necessity, addressing the dark side of Internet use. In an attempt to
convince parents not to throw their computer out of the window, I want to
include really cool stories of really great things kids are doing online.

Some I already have:
Kids with cancer in online support groups
LGBT kids in support groups
Kids at our local high school who engage in daily communication with a
recent grad who is now in Iraq (talk about making the war real)
A page on MySpace where a teen who is dealing with a critical illness is
getting almost hourly support from his online friends
The Latino teens who used MySpace to organize nationwide walkouts to protest
the immigration bill (just love the use of social networking communities by
youth for political advocacy work :-)).
Teen musicians who are getting amazing career breaks because they are
participating in MySpace's online music scene

More???
