Our district puts out the following statement about with our end of year inventory procedures. "It is a (Virginia) state requirement that an annual shelf list inventory of all library holdings and equipment be conducted at the end of each school year. Federal guidelines also make the same requirement where Federal Funding has been granted." I notice in the earlier discussion of inventory that no one listed this as a reason for an annual inventory. I always thought an annual inventory was required in all public schools, by federal law if not by state law. Am I incorrect? -- Cindy Thompson Library Assistant/Longwood LMS Student Jane H.
