LM_NET Archive



Library Associates seeks a temporary School Librarian for a private high
school located in Thousand Oaks, California.  It is anticipated that the
duration of this assignment will be approximately 2-4 months.  The hours
are regular business hours, approximately 8:00-5:00, Monday through
Friday.  

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

*       Provide reference services;

*       Cataloging as needed;

*       Acquisitions, ordering and processing materials; working with
vendors;

*       Maintaining an organized and efficient library;

*       Supervising 2 other library staff;

*       Supervising students at various times throughout the workday and
workweek;

*       Assisting students, faculty, staff, and parents who use or visit
the library;

*       Other additional duties as needed.

 

 

Qualifications

 

*       MLS or equivalent professional experience mandatory;

*       Experience working in a school or academic library is strongly
preferred;

*       Experience working with high-school-aged students is strongly
preferred;

*       Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to supervise
staff and students effectively;

*       Excellent organizational and communication skills; punctuality
and extremely regular attendance;

*       Overall commitment to excellence and the ability to serve as a
positive role model.

 

 

Notes

 

*       Hourly compensation depends on experience.

*       Prior to being offered this temporary position, the successful
candidate will pass a thorough background check.
