My request was for free wiki hosting sites that I could use for an upcoming class. Chris Smith has a list at http://www.shambles.net/pages/learning/ict/wikihosts/, his main page has loads more about web2.0. http://www.shambles.net/web2/index.htm Two wiki hosts mentioned onthis list were recommended by fellow LM_NET readers. Try pbwiki.com. http://www.pbwiki.com We used it this year for our tech conference - see http://stlc.pbwiki.com/ Try www.seedwiki.comWe are using this for our grad school classes in San Jose (MLIS program) with Dr. Loertscher. If you'd like, look at our class and especially the reading synthesis box to see what we did. At the search box on the first screen, type in libr233. Then look for libr233 group one (this was an elementary group). Then look for the box that says reading synthesis and you will see a final product with explanations. Of course you are welcome to explore the rest of the site, too. The first row of boxes and the bibliography are where everyone read widely and contributed their abstracts of things that they read. One other I have seen is http://www.jot.com/ it is free but only for 5 other users.I have set up one on pbwiki http://web2-0.pbwiki.com/, not much content there as yet but we hope to use it during our class to create the content as followup sessions.
