I am a 2nd year media specialist, and have been given about 20+ novel sets to store in my library from various teachers who are interested in using them for literature circles. I am a complete newbie to lit circles, and am not sure even what to offer the teachers, other than a place to store the books in my library, along with a way to check them out. I'd like to support the teachers in their wish to use these, but I need some starter points. What is a lit circle? Do I have to provide some kind of discussion questions to go along with the books? If so, how do you do this if you haven't read the book yourself. Help!
