As part of a school wide laptop iniative and a complete library renovation, we are making a real push this year toward electronic resources. As a university lab school, our students have access to a huge variety of databases, but I want to purchase some ebooks to supplement our print reference & nonfiction collection. I'm just beginning to look into this, and I have some questions for any of you who already have ebooks in your collection. 1. Who do you purchase your books from? Would you recommend them? 2. How are books checked out/accessed by students? (for example, are titles accessible to all students all the time, like databases, or are they acutally "checked out" like a print book?) 3. What resources would you particualry recommend in electronic format? 4. How are students responding? 5. What other things should I consider when shopping for these resources?
