Just my two cents--

My motto is that no child shall leave the library empty-handed and disappointed on
the first library visit. If it kills us, we make every attempt to begin the year
with checking out books. We deal with the rules as we go. Kids are little sponges
and they absorb so much. I want them with me from the very beginning and
explaining that they can't take out a book because I have to bore them with "rules"
for a couple of weeks doesn't sit well with me.

As I said, just my two-cents worth.
