My principal forwarded me something he got from www.ReadersAreWinners.org . Part of the email says "Everyone within the educational arena knows when parents are involved in their children’s education the benefits are endless. Therefore, in a creative attempt to engage parents and simultaneously help address the literacy crisis in America, we have created a FREE Kindergarten - 2nd grade school-to-home reading program to get teachers, students, and parents reading together weekly, on behalf of schools. The program is called Letter P.A.L.S. (Personalized Adventure Letter Series).... To date, schools in 42 states have enrolled in Letter P.A.L.S. K-2 program. Collectively, we can accomplish something very special across America by getting parents reading with their children weekly, on behalf of schools. Statistics tell us it's time to take a stand! " Does anyone know about this program? Is it 'legitimate''? Is it worthwhile? I told him I would investigate of course I thought of all of you for added information. Thanks!
