Thanks to Sara and Pamela I have the title. The Shadow of the Wind by
Carlos Ruiz

The large, thick paperback with an orange-brown cover may be Carlos Ruiz
Zafon's The Shadow of the Wind in which there is a library -the library
of forgotten books and its effect on the young protagonist, Daniel.

Hi Jennifer, A title called "The Shadow of the Wind" written by the
spanish author Carlos Ruiz Zafon (2002?) and then translated into
English opens with this premise. It has an orange cover-(look on Barnes
and Noble bn.com). It was a tremendous read. I could not put it down.
Perhaps this is what your patron is looking for. Sara

A friend is looking for the title to a book. This is what she
remembers:

"It is larger, thick paperback it had a vaguely orangey brown cover
and
was a book about a mysterious library and the effect of the library on
the young protagonist"

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jennifer
