I just got this one, too, and was going to post it but Toni beat me
too it! ;-)

But, I just found 2 more great winter/holiday books in the last
Junior Library Guild box I received just this week.

THE SNOW GLOBE FAMILY (Level K) ) (great for point of view)

by Jane O'Connor
illustrated by S. D. Schindler

In a big house on a hill live a mama, papa, boy, girl, and baby.
Inside a snow globe on their mantel lives another mama, papa, boy,
girl, and baby. They all long for one thing: a great big blizzard
that will make a perfect hill for sledding. If only it would snow! If
only someone would pick up the globe and give it a good shake! One
night, both families-big and little-see their wishes come true.
Colored inks and gouache.

and
MERRY UN-CHRISTMAS (Level P)

by Mike Reiss
illustrated by David Catrow

It's Christmas morning, and Noelle is opening her presents: a new
doll, roller skates, a computer, a bike, and a pony. Ho-hum. For
dinner, it's turkey with chestnut dressing and mashed potatoes and
five kinds of pie. Again? In Christmas City, where Christmas comes
364 times a year, Noelle can hardly wait for her favorite day to
arrive: Un-Christmas! Kids go to school, families eat TV dinners,
trees don't light up . . . if only it could be Un-Christmas every
day! Full-color art.

I think that David Catrow is my new favorite illustrator!

And here I had just been complaining I didn't have any new Christmas
books to read!
