Hi, Melinda.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for exactly, but it is an
article I just read the other day and it is related. The title is
self-explanatory.

"Comedy Club. Read-aloud passages that young teens will find funny."
by Rob Reid. in Book Links Nov. 2006, vol. 16, no. 2, p. 20 (audience:
middle through high school)

A sidebar in the article lists articles from past issues of Book Links
with additional suggestions for humorous reading, including: Tickling
the Funny Bone: Humorous Books To Read Aloud, May 06, p. 56 (there are
two other articles listed, but this is the most pertinent to the grade
levels/interest levels.

I take the risk of exposing my rusty citation skills!!

Subject: question about stand alone chapters

Hi folks - Would someone refresh my memory, please? Was it here on the
listserv that there was a list of chapters from lots of different
novels
that would do well as stand-alone read-alouds or did I see it in one of
=
the
review journals? If it was on the list, can anyone tell me what the =
subject
was so I can search for the information in the archives? Thanks very
=
much.
