[LM_NET] Downloading MARC records on a Mac

Hi-

This is probably more of a Mac question than anything.  I've been trying to
download MARC records from the LOC website for the first time.  I can get to
the point where I save the record onto my desktop or into a file on my
computer as mrc1.txt, mrc2.txt, etc.  The instructions I have say that the
next step is to combine all the individual records into one file called
microlif001 (which looks familiar from the MARC records I've purchased).

The problem is that the directions are only for a Windows operating system
and include getting to the DOS prompt.  I've always used a PC until the
beginning of this year when I moved to a Mac district.  I don't know how to
proceed.  We have OS X, and our library software is Alexandria.  If anyone
could help me through the next steps, I would be most grateful.
