I'm digging through some of the stacks of professional library titles in my new library and I'm finding many outdated professional books---referencing the use of the card catalog, book pockets and cards, some obscure book titles, etc. I know that there are a ton of new professional titles out there for elementary librarians, but the list is lengthy! I have a few things that I've gathered over the past couple of years that relate to upper elementary (5th-6th graders), but wondered if there were some titles that you're using that are your core resources for elementary instruction / lessons (on books, the use of the library, etc.)? What's out there that's new and wonderful? What professional journals (for elementary librarians) are you using---there are no professional journals at my new school, so I'm planning to order one or two additional titles for myself. If others are interested, I'll post a HIT.
