Because most LCD projectors have poor volume output, the best solution
we have found is to bypass the LCD projector and go directly from the
audio-out of the DVD/VCR into a separate speaker.

Subject: speakers and LCD projector

Our computer tech came to me today asking about how to connect speakers
to our Hitachi LCD projector when it is connected to our VCR/DVD unit.
We both know that there is a place for speakers on the projector, but
the sound will not come through the speakers. We do not seem to have
this problem when we use the same speakers and the same LCD projector
with a computer. Any suggestions? We will using this set up to play a
DVD to our entire 4th grade student body and the speakers on the
projector are just not loud enough to serve the purpose.
